Our classes are intended to teach “small canvas” techniques. Those are particularly well suited for jewelry, but can be expanded to use in larger applications.

CClasses

Computer Based Design and Screen Printing

to Create Painted Masterpieces

This class will enable the glass artist to create wonderfully detailed small pieces for jewelry or for elements in larger pieces (see examples below) . The backbone of this artwork will be computer 1)decals created by the student or masks also created by the student and 2) easy creation of Screen printing.

Screen Printing will be done  in an inexpensive  method easily accomplished in the home studio,

Decals will be created using computer decal paper. These are not the pre-made colored decals. Each student will have the opportunity to create their own or to use decals provided.

Colors will be added by:

1)     Glass and porcelain paints (which you will learn to make)

2)      Enamels

3)      Mica paints (which you will learn to make)

4)      Several other unique and interesting methods.

Painting on pendants will be examined in more detail.  Multilevel glass creations will be made , each giving a different element to the final piece. See the examples below for an indication of the diversity of techniques and end results possible.

Students are expected  to have basic knowledge of cutting glass as well as a basic understanding of glass techniques.

These were made using techniques taught in this class
